The Guild regularly partakes in community projects both as a resource to our members and a learning opportunity for the teams involved. The subject matter can vary greatly, but usually tends to center around a collaborative or media based initiative, such as internet radio broadcasting, online drawing software, game design and concept building. |

Here is a brief overview of ongoing staff projects.
Paintchat and Opencanvas sessions
Group in charge: Technical Team
Description:
In addition to providing the guild with an online drawing environment,
this project was started in order to devise a proper way of hosting
drawing sessions with a large amount of users. We are currently testing
settings and documenting optimal setup protocol so that we can make a
guide for those wishing to host a stable OC or PC session with their
own connection.
Current Progress: Both OC and PC setups have
been successfully established. We are currently stress testing
Paintchat as well as OC to find limits and necessary precautions to
document.
TG Radio
Group in charge: Technical Team
Description:
We started this project as a means of further investigating internet
based media. Internet radio has been around for many years now and has
served as a very innovative means of getting your message across to
large audiences. Today, almost all 'terrestrial' based radio stations
also have an internet radio setup to help broaden their listener base.
Like our OC/PC sessions, we will be making an in depth guide for those
interested in creating an internet radio server and broadcasting
service.
Current Progress: A dedicated server has been
established to provide a limited number of 'channels' to listen to.
We're currently looking for more content to broadcast in the form of
shows or member made audio work. Stress tests so far have allowed up to
20 listeners at a time. We're hoping to reach the upper bound of 32
listeners per channel with upcoming shows.

We started this project as a means of further investigating internet based media. Internet radio has been around for many years now and has served as a very innovative means of getting your message across to large audiences. Today, almost all 'terrestrial' based radio stations also have an internet radio setup to help broaden their listener base.
One particular advantage of internet radio, just like the internet itself, is that you are able to listen and broadcast virtually anywhere in the world. We hope to take advantage of this technology by offering our members the opportunity to use the server we established as an internet radio base station to broadcast music, shows, programs and other audio related work to a world wide audience.
We also plan to use the data we collect to create a comprehensive tutorial for those interested in hosting their own internet radio stations.
If you are interested in broadcasting on our station, please feel free to contact us.
