Community Policies

Please be sure to read these before and after joining the site. If you have any questions about them, let us know in the forum or contact us page.

 

Registering for the Site

(In beta state. Will change slightly when the beta ends.)

All are welcome to join, however we reserve the right to accept or deny applicants based on what information is given. The following conditions are subject to be questioned and or rejected during the application process:

  • The username of the applicant is very similar to that of an existing member or well known character. For example, names such as "Sonic the Hedgehog" or "S.H.A.D.O.W" Will not be looked upon favorably.·

  • There is a lack of website. This site is intended for those who are mature and experienced with community sites. As such, a website showing some form of online interaction is required.·

  • There is no reference. We wish to keep this place close knit so a short explanation or reference to a current member or site as to where one found about the Technoguild is required.

  • Each member is allowed one login account with the exception of staff and guest testers. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed.

  • Member names must be good for a teen audience. Names cannot be longer than 32 characters and it must be broken up if it's that long, but cannot have more than four numbers to it. Names can only contain alphanumerical characters. Staff holds the right to make or request name changes.

     

Code of Conduct

As members of the Technoguild, we understand the importance of creating an atmosphere that will be beneficial to each and every one of our fellow members, from those looking for a friendly place to chat, to those who wish to try and expand their creative boundaries, and as such we pledge:

  • To strive to be a mature, intelligent and co-operative member of the community.

  • To be respectful of our fellow guild members and treat them with equality, without any form of racism, sexism, and other forms of prejudice.

  • To never resort to flaming or trolling anyone for a difference of opinion during debates, and to instead strive to be open and respectful of others' opinions.

  • To think about what we say before we say it, thinking about how it will affect the topic and if it is breaking any part of the code of conduct.

  • To never post content that would violate any part of the site policies, such as profane and offensive images, excessive swearing, and any other material that would be deemed inappropriate by guild standards.

  • To never use avatars or signatures that will break any of the site policies.

  • To be honest when it comes to posting content and never claim to own the work of another.

  • To try and remain as level headed as we can and not let any fanboy/fangirl-ism get the best of us.

  • To try and stay on topic whenever possible as to not take a discussion too far off track.

  • To refrain from excessive spamming around the guild.

  • To post clear enough that others will be able to interpret what you are saying without having to guess every second word.

  • To overall just have fun and keep this place lighthearted and overall an entertaining place to chat, debate, and create.

Content Policies

 

Offensive Material

In order to keep this community clean and family-friendly, we must stress that potentially offensive material such as Nudity, Graphic violence, Sexual behavior or Innuendo, Crude Humor as well as Strong Profanity are not welcome on this site.

Nudity includes the following:

Any form of genitalia.

Sexual themes - This means displays of sexual acts or hints of sexual acts of any kind.

"Gratuitous nudity" - Pieces in which the only evident purpose of the work is to display or hint at a subject’s genitalia, breast, nipples, buttocks etc.

Excessively Graphic violence includes subjects covered in blood, decapitating, loss of limbs, crushing, breaking, display or internal organs, etc.

However, under strict scrutiny, we will allow some degrees of it as long as the content has some substantial redeeming quality to it. This can include things such as a traumatic dialogue/story or a drawing depicting some violence.

Strong Profanity includes the words F**ck, B**ch, A***ole, S**t etc.

If you must include potentially offensive content, please put a warning in the post. Make images a link by using the URL tag or give a large space in between the warning and the content. If you're posting something that could be considered offensive, please warn people about that content as well.

The staff reserves the right to remove your content if it is too explicit without any prior warning or notification.

Spamming

By spamming, we mean posting messages with annoying, stupid, image filled, and/or useless or little content to them. Also, you may not post things like, "in before the lock" and "free post." What is considered spam will be decided by the staff and the community.


Miscellaneous Policies

Please post in colors that are easy to read. Any difficult to read posts are subject to be edited for readability without notice.

Members with large, offensive or overly distracting signatures will have all or part of their signature removed. Staff may ask members to shorten their sigs in PM, at their option, but the staff does reserve the right to delete all or part of the signature at any time.

Discussion involving illegal activities such as how to obtain pirated software, music, and other intellectual property are not allowed.
